CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) - A 54-year-old Clovis woman has been found dead inside her burning home by firefighters battling the blaze.
Elizabeth McAdams was found dead Saturday morning lying on the floor of a bedroom with her throat slashed.
Police think the suspect then set several small fires in an attempt to burn down the house and destroy the murder evidence.
Police say they think McAdams knew her killer.
Neighbors say McAdams had lived alone in the home for about two years and described her as "a nice lady."
