It's hard to believe, but authorities were tipped off that a nurse at the Rankin District Hospital might have illicit drugs at work.
Upton County Sheriff's deputies picked up 44-year-old Rhonda Branch at the hospital on Saturday night.
NewsWest 9 has learned that she has been released on a $7,000 bond.
She's charged with possession of a controlled substance, less than two grams.
Sheriff Dan Brown says this is the first time he can remember anything like this.
But the Sheriff adds he believes this is an isolated case.
It may also raise some serious legal questions about whether the nurse can perform her duties properly, if it's proven she was under the influence of illegal drugs while helping patients.
If convicted, Branch could face up to two years in jail.
