PECOS - It's been a hot-button issue for months, but now, it's a done deal.

The City of Pecos passed an ordinance last week enforcing guidelines for truck drivers.

After several heated meetings, the City Council added a few changes to its new ordinance.

The drivers can take the trucks home, but they're only allowed to drive the cab, the trailer has to stay behind.

They're also required to use a special pad underneath the trucks, preventing additional damage to city and neighborhood streets.

This all started when neighbors began complaining to city officials about the noise and damage to the roads in their neighborhoods.
