BIG SPRING - The City of Big Spring is offering up some big bucks to catch the vandals who torched the Kids Zone at Comanche Trail Park earlier this week.
In addition to the $1,000 from Big Spring Crimestoppers, the city has authorized an additional $5,000 to catch and convict the culprits.
The fire was called in Tuesday night leaving only charred remains of the wooden playground equipment. It's not the first time vandals have hit the park this week. Over the weekend, someone chopped down one of the historic wooden totem poles. That totem pole had been in the park for more than 50 years.
