MIDLAND - More injured troops arrived in Midland on Friday to take part in the Hunt for Heroes program.

They arrived at the Midland Airport to a hero's welcome.

The program honors troops injured in Iraq.

Volunteers put on a special celebration for them, then take them out for hunting over the weekend.

Two of the men being honored told us there's nothing quite like this West Texas welcome.

"Its pretty outstanding," Hunt for Heroes Participant SGT Daniel Skinner, said. "Its pretty awesome in fact. Not many places do this you know. You have to really find people who are willing to do that for soldiers."

"This is the first time I've ever seen something like this," SFC James Lee, said. "I think it's a great thing. It gets the people out here involved with the military and lets the military know that people out here still care about them."

Hunt for Heroes has been so successful, states like Alabama and Michigan are planning to start similar programs.

This weekend the men are headed out to a deer hunt in the Fort Stockton and Alpine area.
