FORT STOCKTON - Fort Stockton just launched a new radio and TV station.

All to promote tourism and keep neighbors in the know about what's going on in their town.

The city used to have a radio station, but it's been shut down for a decade.

A couple of months ago, the Convention and Visitors Bureau decided to invest $20,000 to get it back up and running.

The radio station has a 15 mile range.

It tells tourists what's going on in town, and alerts everyone if there's an emergency.

The city also launched a TV station two weeks ago which airs City Council meetings and several board meetings.
