ODESSA - Househunters in Odessa are one step closer to having more choices when it comes to shopping for a home.
It was last Summer when an Odessa City Council Member told us he wanted to develop an old oil field into an affordable neighborhood.
The actual lot is on the corner of 8th and Coronado, where a local oil company drilled several years ago.
On Friday, the company agreed to release the permit.
Councilman Mike Sanchez hopes to move forward with planning and zoning in the next few weeks pending Council approval.
The plan is to construct about 100 homes on the property ranging in price from $70,000 to $100,000.
