COAHOMA- NewsWest 9 has learned a threatening message, sparked an investigation in Howard County and inside the Coahoma Independent School District on Thursday.
Coahoma ISD Superintendent Randy Brown says the district is now involved in an ongoing investigation after C.I.S.D. became aware of a message threatening a teacher on Thursday.
Brown could not give any specifics about the investigation, but wants to assure the public the matter will be handled.
NewsWest 9 spoke to a lawyer for the district, who tells us federal law limits what the district can say because it may identify a student.
Brown does not believe the FBI is involved in the case.
There is no word on any punishments handed down by the district to the student due to privacy issues, but Superintendent Brown says the student was in school Thursday before the incident, later in the day the student was not.
