Wal-Mart Buys Wind Power to Help Supply Power to Their Stores

Wal-Mart is doing its part to help the environment here in Texas.

The company says it's buying enough wind power to supply 15-percent of the electricity it needs for nearly 400 stores across the state.

Wal-Mart's buying 226-million kilowatt hours of wind power each year.

That's enough to power 1,800 average households.

The corporation will get the power from a Duke Energy Wind Farm that's under construction in Notrees.
