Midland Man Pleads Guilty to Intoxication Manslaughter Charges

MIDLAND - A Midland man is heading to prison with a 10 year sentence after pleading guilty to intoxication manslaughter.

33-year-old Robert Lee Barsic, pleaded guilty last week for the death of 38-year old Shelley Trout on May 30th.

Both were riding on Barsic's motorcycle in the early morning hours along Rankin Highway when he got distracted, hit a cement divider and lost control.
Both were thrown from the bike.

Trout suffered major head injuries and died the next day.

Barsic's case will be reviewed in six months, and the judge could change the rest of the sentence to probation.
