ODESSA - A green light for new oil wells that are just a little too close for comfort for some Odessans.

The Odessa City Council voted 4-1 in favor of Keystone Petroleum, which wants to put two new rigs on the south side of town near Comanche Trails Park and the Ector County Detention Center.

Some city and county officials were concerned about the health hazards of installing pump jacks so close to a park, but Councilman Bill Cleaver who represents the area in question was the only no vote.
