We know falling oil and gas prices are a mixed blessing for the basin's economy, but one thing is certain you'll have more money in your pocket to spend during Christmas which in turn will help many other sectors of the economy.
On Monday night at the Pilot Truck Stop in Midland County, NewsWest 9 found prices for regular unleaded at $2.19 a gallon and folks NewsWest 9 spoke with absolutely love it.
You'd have to go back to February of 2007 to find comparable prices.
This is the 54th straight day that gas has fallen, and that dates back to just after Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike.
It's a far cry from earlier this year when oil hit 147 dollars a barrel which translated to more than four dollars a gallon for gas.
