GREENWOOD - A 42-year-old Stanton man was killed over the weekend in an oil field fire.

Midland Fire Marshal Dale Little tells NewsWest9 that Manuel Benny Terango was doing maintenance work Saturday at a Pioneer Natural Resources site when the fire began.

Terango suffered burns to 70 percent of his body and was airlifted to a Lubbock hospital. He later died from his injuries.

Little said Terango was working by himself and the fire was in an isolated location near Greenwood. It is not known what started the fire.
