ECTOR COUNTY - Authorities in Odessa called off a search for a man they say fled on foot on Sunday evening.

Authorities now say the man won't be charged with a crime.

During the search they setup a perimeter and called out a chopper to follow protocol.

The man was last seen at 5th and Grant.

According to Sergeant Gary Duesler with the Ector County Sheriff's Office, police deputies and other local law enforcement agencies responded to a possible domestic disturbance call on sunday evening.

But after interviewing the man's ex-wife, they called off the search.

Sgt. Duesler says the couple has a long history of disputes, and no charges will be filed.

He says even though the search seemed extensive, they were just following procedure.
