MIDLAND/ODESSA - Midland County voters made their way to the polls this election season in big numbers.

More than 46,000 people voted, that's 62 percent of registered voters, but only about 14,000 of those people actually voted on Election Day, the rest were early voters.

78% of Midlanders backed John McCain and 21 percent casted ballots for Barack Obama, and one percent voted for the Libertarian Candidate Bob Barr.

Not quite as many Ector County voters showed up to the polls.

More than 36,000 people casted their ballots, a 52 percent turnout.

13,000 people voted on Tuesday in Ector County, almost twice as many voted early.

74 percent of Odessans backed John McCain while 26 percent voted for Barack Obama, one percent voted for Bob Barr.

For those of you keeping track, these are rounded numbers which is why they don't add up to 100 percent.
