ODESSA - The train tracks at Cargo Road and Highway 80 proved treacherous for yet another 18 wheeler as the second big rig in two days gets stuck on the tracks.

According to DPS, due to construction on the tracks to create a quiet zone, the truck was trying to steer around the orange cones and fell into a culvert. The driver was able to get out of the truck before the train hit and was not injured.

Andree Goodson with the City of Odessa says construction on the quiet zone will be delayed due to damage from the accident, but the project is ongoing.

The quiet zones will create a gate that drivers can not steer around unlike the crossing arms and train conductors will not have to sound their train whistle.
