Midland Murder Suspect Indicted for Capital Murder

MIDLAND - A Midland woman will be going to trial for captial murder. A grand jury indicted 29 year old Corina Sifuentes on Capital Murder charges.

Police say she shot and killed 45 year old Sylvia Zapata on September 11th. Investigators tell NewsWest9 it was in retaliation for the shooting-death of her half brother Victor Vidal.

Sifuentes had been in hiding in Mexico, but was arrested in Midland last week when she came home to visit her children. She remains behind bars on a one million dollar bond.

The Midland County District Attorney hasn't decided if her office will seek the death penalty yet.
