Four Indicted in Connection to Brutal Rape of Teen

WINKLER COUNTY - There are new details on the investigation into the brutal rape of a 16-year-old girl in Winkler County.

Four people, including two Wink High School students, are back behind bars after being indicted by a grand jury.  All four suspects were previously arrested and had bonded out of jail, but after being indicted their bonds were raised so police put them back in handcuffs and hauled them back to jail.

17-year-old Anthony Bishop and 18-year-old Joel Hernandez were indicted on Aggravated Sexual Assault charges. Both are students at Wink High School.

Authorities believe the two teens raped and beat the girl at Bishop's home back in September.

Two others, 35-year-old Jason Lee Vaught and Joe Taylor, were also indicted for Organized Criminal Activity. Police tell us they were at the home when the rape happened and didn't do anything to stop it.

They say the girl was beaten so badly that she had to be treated at a Lubbock hospital.

40-year-old Pamela White, Anthony Bishop's mother, who was also at home at the time, has not been indicted so far. But authorities say that could come at any time.
