Clinic Planned to Help Pet Owners Guard Against Parvo-Distemper

Earlier this week NewsWest9 told you about a Parvo outbreak plaguing puppies across the Permian Basin.

Parvo is a deadly intestinal virus and the symptoms include dehydration, vomiting, diarrhea, and depression. If a dog doesn't have the vaccine the chance of survival is only 30 percent.

The Humane Society of Odessa is pitching in to help solve the problem.

Next Saturday, October 18th, you can bring your dog to the humane society for a Parvo-Distemper shot clinic.

The clinic is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 7012 Mockingbird Lane in Odessa. Normally the vaccine costs $11, but next Saturday your dog can get the shots for just $5 each.
