Seminole Students Continue to Recover After Car-Pedestrian Accident

SEMINOLE - Two Seminole fourth graders continue to improve after being hit by a car on the way to school on Monday.

The boy and girl were hit in a crosswalk in front of Seminole Elementary, just before 7:30 in the morning.

The driver, Renate Klein-Steuber, told police he couldn't see the children, because it dark.

The boy and girl were hit in the crosswalk in front of Seminole Elementary.

Both were taken to Lubbock Covenant Hospital.

The boy was released from the hospital on Tuesday morning.

The girl is now out of I-C-U, and is expected to be released on Wednesday.

Police are calling it an accident, and no charges will be filed.
