A suspect on the run for 20 years in connection with a 1988 Odessa murder will spend the next three decades behind bars.

55-year-old William Harrison Blackwell pleaded guilty to the death of Fort Worth Businessman James Neal Jennings.

The two men had business dealings, but there's still no clear motive.

Jennings was shot to death and his body found in a hotel, just off Andrews Highway.

Blackwell was arrested by authorities in January of 2007 on unrelated charges.

They caught up with him in the San Antonio area.

A fingerprint match on the arrest tied Blackwell back to the Ector County case.
