BIG SPRING - Officials are still investigating a prison riot that occured in Big Spring on Friday.
It reportedly started around 9:00p.m. at the Flight-Line Correctional Center, near the airport.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the building on fire.
Police officers secured the perimeter and handled traffic, while firefighters went inside to fight the blaze.
NewsWest 9 spoke with prison officials on Monday, and said that they still don't know what started the riot.
Officials did inform NewsWest 9 that several staff and inmates suffered minor injuries.
The facility is privately owned by Cornell Companies Incorporated which houses prisoners from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Services.
