CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) - A Washington man with three decades of experience in local government has been selected to succeed Eddy County Manager Steve Massey when he retires.
The county commission announced its unanimous decision to hire Allen Sartin of Chimacum, Washington, after a closed meeting yesterday.
Sartin lists on his resume 29 years of experience in the management of local government that includes four years in city government and 25 years in county government.
Although Massey will not retire until the end of the year, the commission would like Sartin to start in the next 30 days so he familiarize himself with his new job.
The commission initially received 14 applications for the position.
