PERMIAN BASIN - We may not be in Hurricane Ike's path, but we're feeling the effects in the Basin.

Have you checked out the prices at the pump?

At the pilot truck stop on Highway 1788 and I-20 the price has gone up.

Right now they're selling fuel for $3.53, but right next door at the Town and Country a gallon of unleaded is going for $3.79.

That's a 25 cent increase in one day.

Some of our viewers in Big Spring report a big jump as well from $3.61 to $3.89.

But consider yourself lucky.

In South Carolina, they're paying $5.23 for a gallon of unleaded fuel.

You can blame Ike for all of this as it's barrelling toward 26 oil refineries on the Texas coast.

The price hikes are amid fears of a shortage if those refineries are disrupted.
