PECOS - The Pecos Animal Shelter just couldn't wait any longer.

In order to keep the facility up to state regualtions, they'll take a bite out of city construction money to make repairs, but it won't be money wasted.

Since a new shelter is on the way, the council opted to buy items that could be moved to the new location.

Mayor Alligood tells NewsWest 9 they've already bought new exhaust fans, and have plans for a medicine refrigerator, fencing, and washing equipment.
