Seven People Behind Bars after Drug Bust in Lea County

LEA COUNTY - Seven people behind bars in Lea County after authorities shut down a major meth trafficking organization taking drugs and guns off the street.

The bust, the result of a long term investigation went down Wednesday in Hobbs and Lovington.

According to the Lea County Drug Force, they seized $15,000 in cash, six guns, and more than a pound and a half of meth worth $45,000.

The investigation has been going on for more months and has involved the DEA and the FBI.

We're told this drug operation had been moving pounds of drugs through Lea County every month.

The people arrested, men and women, are facing drug trafficking charges, and more arrests are coming.
