Showers pelted the basin and flooded streets Tuesday evening. TX-DOT crews were on the scene at the intersection of east Loop 338 and I-20 in Odessa working on traffic lights that stopped functioning in the storms.
Midland crews had their hands full as well trying to pull a truck out the water after it became submerged at Dormard and Tyler.
There were reports that the driver needed help getting out. The water was about four feet high on the truck and it covered the hood.
Police say the man drove around a safety cone and now his truck is considered a total loss.
