ODESSA - Hundreds of fish found dead over the Labor Day Holiday in the pond at the Comanche Trail Park had alot of people wondering what was going on.
On Tuesday, the city informed NewsWest 9 that there's nothing to worry about.
Officials tell us, it's a natural phenomenon.
Twice a year, "the pond turns over".
That means the cold water at the bottom and the warm water at the top, trade places creating a poisonous gas that kills the fish..
City crews were out early on Tuesday cleaning up the hundreds of carcasses on the banks.
The pond is still stocked with fish.
