Gas Well Blowout Cancels Classes in Iraan

IRAAN - Officials decided to cancel classes in Iraan today after a gas well blowout.

The blowout happened this morning about a mile from the Iraan-Sheffied school complex.

Authorities tell NewsWest9 that no one was injured. The blowout is currently being monitored and no one is in any danger.

Worried parents went to the school this morning to pick up their children and officials decided it was best to cancel classes for the rest of the day.

Iraan-Sheffied I.S.D. Superintendent Kevin Allen says the school was on standby to evacuate if the winds picked up, but that was not necessary and no students were ever in any danger.
