Fourth Jail Escapee Arrested in Albuquerque

CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) - A fourth inmate among eight men who escaped from the Curry County jail has been captured.

District Attorney Matt Chandler says 26-year-old Victor Sotelo was caught Thursday night. Sotelo was facing charges for aggravated assault when he escaped from the jail.  Chandler says he was arrested without incident in Albuquerque.

Four escapees remain at large from the group of eight that used handmade implements to cut a hole in the roof of the Curry County jail Sunday. Law enforcement is searching throughout Clovis, Albuquerque and West Texas.

Still at large are Edward Salas, who was convicted of murder for the 2005 shooting death of a 10-year-old boy, and Larry McClendon, who faces charges of murder and aggravated robbery.  Authorities say they believe that McClendon may be traveling with another escaped inmate, Michael England.
