Rankin City Officials Still Looking for a New Mayor

RANKIN - City officials in Rankin still looking for a new Mayor.

According to Rankin City Secretary Anita Sparks in the May 2009 election Rankin residents will be able to vote for a replacement for Mayor Cora McFadden who resigned back in July.

The position will be a one year unexpired term.

Until then, Timothy Potter will serve as mayor pro tem.

McFadden had been Rankin's Mayor for several years.

No word as to why she resigned.
