MIDLAND - A home in northern Midland has been destroyed by fire. The blaze broke out around 7:30 Monday morning in the 5500 block of North Midland Drive.
The two story home was almost fully engulfed in flames when crews got to the scene. It took crews over an hour to get the fire under control.
One person was home at the time of the fire and the home is a total loss. The Midland Fire Department says the fire likely started in a dry sauna unit on the back patio of the home. The fire spread from the sauna to the home through an open patio door.
No injuries were reported. The fire remains under investigation.
