SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) - Marriage documents, photos and church records have been introduced today as Texas seeks foster care for children of some polygamists.
The court hearing in San Angelo involves a girl allegedly given in marriage -- at age 12 -- to now jailed polygamist leader Warren Jeffs.
Texas wants to remove the now 14-year-old girl and a younger brother from their mother.
Child Protective Services says the woman has refused to guarantee the girl won't have contact with men accused of being involved in underage marriages.
Texas Ranger Nick Hannah helped CPS offer documents outlining some polygamist group family relationships.
The items were seized in an April raid of the Yearning For Zion Ranch near Eldorado.
The girl's mother -- Barbara Jessop -- invoked her 5th Amendment right not to incriminate herself on about 50 questions.
