Two Killed in Same Spot on West Texas Highway

TERRY COUNTY - Two West Texans are dead after two highway crashes in the same spot just hours apart.

Both accidents happened early Saturday morning in Terry county just south of Wellman along Highway 6282.

The first accident was around 4:20 a.m. According to troopers, the driver of a semi lost control of his rig, slid across the road and went into the median and then flipped. 40 year-old Samuel Solis of Seminole was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 9:00 a.m., while investigators were still on the scene, a car crashed into a pick-up parked on the side of the road.

Troopers say 25 year-old Cassi Hoover of Odessa was killed in that crash. Her passenger was taken to a Brownfield hospital and treated for minor injuries.

We're told the truck was legally parked on the side of the road. No one else was hurt.
