It was a trip to jail on Friday for a Big Spring man involved in a robbery and police involved shooting in Stanton, but only after he was released from the hospital.
According to the police report, 23-year-old John Wilkinson walked into the drug store on north Saint Peter Thursday around lunch-time dressed in black and wearing a mask.
He was carrying what witnesses say looked like a gun wrapped in a bandana.
Wilkinson reportedly demanded painkillers.
And when police arrived, they chased him through the Stanton Barber Shop, and found him hiding between two buildings in an alley.
We're told Wilkinson made an aggressive move when ordered to get on his stomach, and that's when Police Chief Michael Adams shot Wilkinson in the right shoulder.
He was taken to Midland Memorial where he was treated and released.
He was booked into the Martin County Jail and charged with aggravated robbery.
His bond is set at $10,000 dollars.
The Texas Rangers are investigating.
The case is ongoing.
