ANDREWS - The Waste Control Specialists Plant in Andrews got a step closer to meeting certain disposal needs on Wednesday.

The Texas Commission on Enviromental Quality issued the Waste Control Specialists Plant a draft license for near surface disposal.

That brings them closer to meeting their low level radiactive waste disposal needs.

One Waste Control Specialists official said this was an important milestone for the people of Andrews and Lea County.

Not only will it provide 75 new jobs in Andrews, it will also ensure that statewide facilities can dispose their radioactive waste properly.
