The Warfield station at 1788 and I-20 is one of the stations investigated by the Attorney General.

We went over a list of all the stations owned by that company, and found there are only two here in West Texas.

Petroleum Wholesale LP operates under the name Sunmart with gas stations located across the state of Texas.

Most of them are in the Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth areas.

"Almost a thousand gas pumps at Sunmart were calibrated to pump less gas than what customers thought they were buying," Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, said.

"My wife and I taught our children that cheating is wrong. And these actions send a message that in Texas cheaters never win," Texas Commissioner of Agriculture, Todd Staples, said.

The Attorney General is seeking civil penalties of up to $20,000 per violation, and Abbott believes the number of violations could up close to 1,000.
