Local Stores Pulling Serrano Peppers from Shelves

WEST TEXAS - Local stores are pulling some serrano peppers after they were linked to Salmonella.

The FDA issued a warning Wednesday about eating raw serrano peppers from Mexico. In West Texas, both HEB and Walmart are pulling the peppers from their stores.

Albertsons and Super Mercado still have serrano peppers because they do not buy them from Mexico.

HEB says the recall is a precaution and no customers have reported any illness. HEB plans to return the peppers to the store shelves when they are determined to be safe.
