Odessa Police to Conduct Warrant Round-Up Beginning on August 4th

Time is running out for anyone with an outstanding warrant. The Odessa Police Department and Municipal Court are conducting a warrant round up beginning Monday, August 4, 2008.

During the twelve-day round up, Officers will serve and arrest anyone with an outstanding warrant. Individuals with outstanding warrants are subject to arrest at any time and location, including their home, work or in public.

To avoid arrest, warrant payments can be made online at www.trafficpayment.com, in person at 201. N. Grant, or via phone by calling 888-597-7077 or 800-444-1187. Cash, checks, money orders, cashier's checks and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa and Discover) are accepted. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the Odessa Municipal Court and should include a driver's license number and date of birth to insure proper identification. Payments may also be mailed to the Odessa Municipal Court, P.O. Box 4398, Odessa, Texas 79761. Do not mail cash. Warrants will remain in effect until payment is received and posted by Municipal Court.

Municipal Court hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 9, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The warrants are a result of an individual's failure to appear in person or in writing at the Odessa Municipal Court or failure to comply with a court order. Other types of citations that are handled through the Odessa Municipal Court, and that could be part of the roundup, include parking tickets, code enforcement violations, failure to sterilize a pet adopted from the Odessa Animal Shelter, and other violations of the Odessa Municipal code or state law.
