Hobbs Energy Center Director Chosen

HOBBS, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico Center for Energy Policy in Hobbs has its first director.

He is Fred Yarger of Socorro.

New Mexico Tech in Socorro announced Yarger's appointment yesterday.

New Mexico Tech plans to be a leader in molding energy policies in New Mexico.

The newly formed center will be located at New Mexico Junior College.

Yarger -- who retired from the Navy in 1994 -- holds a doctorate in atmospheric physics from New Mexico Tech and worked for Lincoln Labs at White Sands Missile Range until 2006.
