Traffic Stop Turns into Drug Bust

ODESSA - A routine traffic stop turned up more than Odessa Police expected when they found drugs.

Police pulled over an SUV near the intersection of Reed and Pearl.

Officers say the passenger, 23-year-old Jermaine Swearington, jumped out and took off running.

After catching up to him, officers tell us they found cocaine and marinuana in his pockets.

Swearington is facing several charges including pot and coke possession, and evading arrest.

The driver of the SUV, didn't run, and wasn't arrested.
