MIDLAND/ODESSA - Eight positions open, and eight positions filled.
New principals will be taking over several Odessa and Midland schools.
First in Ector County, it took the Ector County School Board about 20 minutes behind closed doors on Tuesday evening before they made their decision.
The district needed to fill those four principal slots before the new school year begins next month.
Roy Garcia has been named the new principal for Permian High School, Lisa Anaya will be the principal at Burleson Elementary and Shawn Almond will take the principal position at Hood Junior High.
The only newly elected principal who didn't attend Tuesday night's meeting was Bill Garcia, and he'll be heading up Travis Elementary Magnet School.
Three of the four former principals recently retired, and one relocated to another position within the district.
And the Midland School Board also hired 4 principals on Tuesday.
Joanna Carrillo Rowley will take over at San Jacinto Junior High, she was the former assistant principal there.
Mark Alan Shumate is moving from assistant principal at Midland Freshman to principal at Alamo Junior High.
Nicole Gabriel was named principal at Travis Elementary, and Hector Herrera is taking over the reins at Burnet Elementary.
