Tryon Lewis Files to Run in Special Election

Tryon Lewis, the Republican Candidate for District 81 State Representative also wants his name on the ballot for the special election to fill out Buddy West's unexpired term.

On Wednesday, Lewis said he intends to file the appropriate paperwork to get his name on that ballot for November.

Lewis says "election to the expired term would allow him to get up to speed on the issues important for the upcoming legislative term."

The seat for District 81, which includes Andrews, Ector, and Winkler Counties, was vacated when Buddy West died in June.
