Lea County Hires New Manager

LOVINGTON, N.M. (AP) - Lea County has hired a new manager.

County commissioners decided to hire Lovington native Michael Beverly, who now lives in Duncanville, Texas. He was 1 of 2 finalists.

Beverly currently owns a consulting firm specializing in business development. From 1996 to 2002, he worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, which provides goods and services to military personnel.

Lea County has been without a permanent manager since the resignation of Dennis Holmberg in October 2004.
