ODESSA - There's no doubt many Americans are having a tough time in this current oil crisis and they're angry about it.

Food and gas prices are cutting very deep into their budget.

On Tuesday, Senator Hutchison promoted a ''Balanced, Bi-Partisan'' plan that will increase our energy supplies while bringing down high demand.

Hutchinson spoke with the media Tuesday evening along with Odessa community leaders at Freedom Pontiac.

Hutchison is pushing renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and nuclear.

And at the same time, she's calling for drilling in 'ANWAR' and other places currently off limits to oil companies.

But she says, it won't be easy without the help of Democrats who oppose most of the Republicans ideas.

Hutchison says America must find ways to reduce our dependence on foreign oil or we'll continue to experience pains at the gas pump.

Hutchison says it has been 25 years since a new refinery has been built in America.

She's also pushing ethanol mandates to bring down food prices.

Meantime, Democrats have maintained that oil companies have land leased that's full of oil and drilling in places like ANWAR won't help America for many years.

Hopefully, Congress will be able to meet in the middle to get something passed by election time.
