SEMINOLE - The Texas Water Board awarded the City of Seminole money for the installation of a desalination plant, but now they're taking it back.
The project calls for the use of wind power to desalinate drinking water.
The City Administrator tells NewsWest Nine the TWDB agreed to drill, promising $300,000 to begin the project.
Now, the city says, the TWDB is afraid to fund the money for fear of hitting a dry well, and they're offering $100,000 if the city can find the rest of the funds.
City Administrator Tommy Phillips says, they are waiting to hear the final proposal if the TWDB chooses to take back the money, which could be the end of the project.
