No rest for the weary.
The battle to put out brushfires continues in and around the Davis mountains, but they are getting the upper hand.
The Texas Forest Service says the C.F. Ranch fire is finally out.
Fire crews were able to save a radio tower threatened by the blaze.
The fire erupted Wednesday morning about 14 miles northwest of Fort Davis.
That fire burned about 150 acres.
The other fire, the Alpine South fire is still burning four miles south of Alpine.
That fire is about 50% contained.
Once again, fire crews came to the rescue saving ten homes there.
The fire has scorched around 200 acres.
High winds, thick brush, and rough terrain have made it tough to put this one out.
Also, in the last couple of hours, a third fire has popped up near the Alpine airport.
A Texas Forest Service helicopter was sent to deal with it.
Luckily that one was put out, before it grew big enough to become a problem.
