MIDLAND - Loop 250 in north Midland has been reopened after a freak windstorm closed the roadway late Monday night. Crews opened the highway at 9:00 Wednesday morning.
TXDOT reports that a small section of Midland Drive remains closed as crews finish repairing damaged power lines.
A strong wind storm Monday night caused power lines to go down in north Midland which closed Loop 250 from Midkiff to Wadley.
3000 Midland customers were without power at the height of the outage. Power was restored to the North Midland Walmart and surrounding area at 7:00 Tuesday morning. Cable and phone outages remain in parts of the area.
ONCOR tells NewsWest 9 that although they have restored power to most of the residential homes in the area, some homeowners may experience short periods of no electricity.
ONCOR Representatives tell NewsWest 9 that 13 power lines went down due to the high winds.
