That's the new total cost the state is shelling out, following the raid of a West Texas polygamist Compound in April.

Almost five million will go to lawyer's fees.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported the figure after they obtained more than 400 pages of invoices, e-mails and other state records.

The biggest chunk of spending is expected to stem from court proceedings after the State took custody of the more than 460 children from the YFZ ranch near Eldorado.
