HOWARD/MARTIN COUNTY LINE - The Texas Forest Service spent Sunday afternoon putting out several grass fires on the Martin and Howard County lines.
Firefighters say the fire started from a spark from a train passing near I-20 around three Sunday afternoon.
It quickly developed into several grassfires along the Interstate.
The blaze scortched about 18 acres before firefighters managed to get it out around five Sunday afternoon.
Volunteer departments from Howard County and Martin County showed up to help put out the fire.
The Texas Forest Service brought in a helicopter and several dozers from their North Carolina fleet.
